Carletta's Life & Legacy Carletta Bonnie Poindexter was born May 28, 1958 to Williard Timms, Sr. (who proceeded her in death), and Rosetta Timms. She was a perfect child doing whatever she was asked to do without question or gripe. Befitting of an angel she gave her life to her father, God, at an early age and never strayed away from His word. On August 23, 1986 Carletta married her soulmate Perry and they raised three children together. Carletta gave her all to the banking industry having worked 12 years at Bank Financial. Carletta had a speech impediment which made her stutter when she talked. But the heavens blessed her when she read the scriptures aloud and when she sang. Armed with a great talent for singing she spent her high school years at Crane Technical Institute warming the hearts of everyone that heard her. Cadetta's golden voice has been ringing in the hearts of everyone since then. She was one of the main soloist and recording artists at Trinity All Nations, the church she has been a member of for over 40 years, serving under all if its pastors, Pastor & Founder Dr. Doris Evelyn Davis, Bishop Carey Henderson, Dr. Mary Ann Bennett and now Pastor Larry E. Roberts, Sr. Some of these recordings were, "Whiter Than Snow", "Never Alone", "Trust Christ", and of course everybody knows "Serving God", just to name a few. She was everything a christian and a good person should be. No wonder God wanted her back. God called His angel back home on Monday, September 7,2009. Carletta leaves to cherish her memories, a loving and supportive husband; Perry, three awesome children; Carmelo Mason, Sr. (Ebony), Camille Mason-Brown (Lavell), and Ronald Poindexter. An incredible grandson; Carmelo Mason, Jr. AK.A "Nana's Baby", A loving and devoted mother; Rosetta Timms, four brothers; Eddie Miller (Gladys) of Los Angeles, CA, Curtis Timms (Robin), Williard Jr.(deceased), Jerry Timms (LaTanya), and Bobby (Jacqueline) all of Chicago, IL. Three sisters; Dorothy Timms (Smitty) of Chicago, IL.; Norma Timms of Los Angeles, CA; and Charlotte Timms of Chicago, IL. Special friends; Rhonda, LeNedra, Renee, Fox and Sheila. A godmother; Linnie Mae Jones and spiritual children; Curtis Lindsey & Keith Lewis, and a stepson; Carmelo Alvarez Mason, Jr. She also leaves a host of neices, nephews, relatives and an endless, list of friends.
